Ukraine Records 15.7% Slump in Semi-Finished Steel Exports

Ukraine’s steel industry recorded a sharp drop in semi-finished steel exports in April 2026, with shipments falling 15.7% compared to March, reaching 116,550 metric tons. Exports were also down 20.1% compared to April last year.

According to data from Ukraine’s State Customs Service, Bulgaria remained the largest export destination with 43,470 tons, followed by Turkey with 10,310 tons and Poland with 15,310 tons. Shipments to all three countries declined compared to the previous month.

During the January, April 2026 period, Ukraine’s total exports of semi-finished steel products slightly decreased by 0.4% year-on-year to 438,370 tons.

Export earnings also declined, with revenue for the first four months falling 1.3% year-on-year to $212.51 million. In April alone, export revenue dropped 9.2% from the previous month and 21.7% compared to the same month last year, totaling $60.18 million.
